The ThinkTPMS G2 is a professional, wireless diagnostic tool used for servicing a vehicle's Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It integrates four core TPMS functions: sensor activation, data reading, programming new sensors, and performing system relearn procedures.
Key Features and Functionality
Connectivity: The G2 is a companion tool designed to be used with other Thinkcar diagnostic tablets (such as the ThinkTool series) or a smartphone running the Thinkdiag/ThinkDiag+ app via Bluetooth. It cannot be used as a standalone device.
Sensor Activation: It can activate and read data from a wide range of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and universal 315MHz & 433MHz TPMS sensors. The data read includes sensor ID, tire pressure, temperature, frequency, and battery status.
Sensor Programming: The tool allows you to program new Thinkcar-branded TPMS sensors (models S1/S2) with unlimited uses to replace faulty or old sensors. Programming methods include:
Auto Create: The tool generates a new, compatible sensor ID automatically.
Manual Create: You manually enter the original sensor's ID into the new sensor.
Copy by Activation: It reads the ID from the existing, activated sensor and writes it to the new one.
Copy by OBD: It pulls the old sensor IDs from the vehicle's ECU (Engine Control Unit) via the OBD-II port and programs them into the new sensors.
TPMS Relearn: After installing or programming new sensors, the vehicle's computer (ECU) must recognize the new sensor IDs and their locations. The G2 guides the user through the three main relearn procedures:
Stationary Relearn: The car is put into "learn mode" and the tool is used to activate sensors in a specific sequence.
Automatic Relearn: The process is completed by simply driving the vehicle after the sensors are installed.
OBD Relearn: The tool connects to the car's OBD-II port to directly write the new sensor IDs into the TPMS module.
Diagnosis: It can read and clear TPMS-related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's system.
Vehicle Coverage: It supports up to 98% of vehicles with direct TPMS systems in the US, Europe, and Asian markets.
The ThinkTPMS G2 is an add-on module that provides comprehensive functionality for professional mechanics and experienced DIY users to maintain and repair TPMS systems efficiently.
