Modern Mercedes-Benz mild-hybrid engines place the 48-volt Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) directly between the engine block and the transmission. Because the massive magnetic forces of the permanent magnet rotor pull heavily toward the stator, attempting to remove the rotor bracket without a specialized stabilization fixture can cause severe engine casing damage, component deformation, or physical injury.

This kit secures the alignment of the crankshaft and the ISG housing while you undo the primary connection hardware. It is required when servicing the timing chain, replacing the hybrid motor, or performing a complete engine overhaul.

2. Rotate the engine manually to Ignition Top Dead Center (TDC / OT).
3. Install the mounting plate flush against the integrated starter generator face.
4. Loosen factory fasteners connecting the ISG rotor to the crankshaft through the tool access points.
5. Engage the puller assembly to safely extract the heavy magnetized rotor while maintaining a perfectly uniform air gap and preventing internal damage.
