Technical Capabilities

PCMflash supports flashing VBF and BIN files, with automatic checksum verification and correction for most modules. It also supports converting VBF/GDS to BIN when reading is not available and supports VID transfer when flashing binary files. Internet is required only for the first activation of the dongle.

J2534 Interface Requirements

PCMflash requires a compatible J2534 Pass-Thru interface for communication with supported ECUs and TCUs. Most OBD, Bench, Boot, recovery, and file writing operations depend on a reliable J2534 adapter to ensure stable programming and data transfer.

Commonly used J2534-compatible devices include:

• Scanmatik 3.
• Scanmatik 2 Pro.
• Tactrix OpenPort 2.0.

Important: The PCMflash Security Dongle is not a standalone communication interface. To perform ECU or TCU reading, writing, recovery, cloning, Bench programming, or Boot mode operations, users must connect a compatible J2534 adapter such as Scanmatik 3, Scanmatik 2 Pro, Tactrix OpenPort 2.0.

Attention! In case of the dongle loss, the module transfer is not possible. You have to buy a dongle and software again.
