This professional gauge automatically detects the type of substrate and displays clear indicators on the screen: "FE" for steel and galvanized steel surfaces, and "AL" for aluminum surfaces. This automatic recognition ensures fast and reliable measurements, making the DX‑13‑AL Coating Thickness Gauge ideal for evaluating car body panels, identifying repainted areas, and verifying coating thickness in industrial environments.

A unique feature of the DX‑13‑AL is its three‑color illuminated display, which provides instant visual guidance:

Orange – two layers of paint
